Introduction
“We don’t know what we have until it’s gone.” Sometimes we tend to take for granted what we love the most. We take for granted people, things and places we love. We think that they will always be there, but we forget that we might not be here tomorrow. Terminal illnesses can take away everything we are within just a few months. Today we are going to explore how to become happier.

If we dwell on negative thoughts for long periods of time, we might get sad and even depressed. But if we think briefly about something that we have, someone we love or places we like to visit and then think, what our lives would be without this thing, person or place, we get to appreciate them more.
Seasons in the Sun is a song by Terry Jacks. The inspiration for the lyrics was a friend of Jacks who was suffering from acute leukemia and died four months later. In this song Jack describes how hard it would be to say goodbye to his friend, his dad and his girlfriend.
“Goodbye to you my trusted friend. We've known each other since we were nine or ten. Together we've climbed hills and trees, learned of love and ABC's, skinned our hearts and skinned our knees. Goodbye my friend, it's hard to die. When all the birds are singing in the sky. Now that spring is in the air. Pretty girls are everywhere. Think of me and I'll be there.”
“Goodbye papa, please pray for me. I was the black sheep of the family. You tried to teach me right from wrong, too much wine and too much song, I wonder how I got along. Goodbye Papa, it's hard to die. When all the birds are singing in the sky. Now that the spring is in the air. Little children everywhere when you see them I’ll be there.”
“Goodbye Michelle, my little one. You gave me love and helped me find the sun. And every time that I was down, you would always come around and get my feet back on the ground. Goodbye Michelle it's hard to die when all the birds are singing in the sky. Now that the spring is in the air with the flowers everywhere, I wish that we could both be there.”
The song “Seasons in the Sun” is a french song translated into English and then adapted by Terry Jack. The chorus is famous. “We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun but the wine and the song, like the seasons have all gone.”
The song “Seasons in the Sun,” was released three times. Once in the French language by the original writer with moderate results, then a second time by an American group with no success at all. Finally Terry’s version became the largest-selling single in Canadian history with more than 285,000 copies sold in just a few weeks. Eventually, it sold more than three million copies in the United States alone. Worldwide, the figure is over six million.
