Introduction

Nowadays, almost everybody carries a smartphone in their pocket. Within this powerful device, they have things that we used to carry separately, for example. We had a walkman which was a cassette player with cassette tapes to listen to music. We had cameras with rolls of film to take pictures and we had coins in our pockets to go to the phone booth to make a phone call. Today we are going to explore how technology has advanced and how to better organize the photos and vídeos you take.

We all take pictures with our phones but most of us are very bad when it comes to organizing and storing those pictures. Many times my friends have told me that their phones are working slowly because they have their phone memory full of pictures.

Google has a picture storage service that works for free but very few people know about it. It is called Google Photos and if you have a Gmail account already you can use it. If you don’t have a Gmail account. You can just create one and get storage space for free.

Instagram is like a simplified version of Facebook, with an emphasis on mobile use and visual sharing. Like other social networks, you interact with other users by following them, letting others follow you, commenting, liking, tagging, and private messaging. You can also save the photos you see on Instagram.

The Brown sisters and photographer Nicholas Nixon knew there had to be an end to the project. They took the same picture every year for forty years. They believed they should end the series on a high note and although it was expected that their fans would be sad about the news, they still appreciated it.

Some people like taking pictures of the food they eat, flowers they see as they walk or many other ordinary things and situations. These people usually say that they want to savor everyday life. On the other hand, there are people who consider that they should only take pictures when there is an extraordinary event because they like to enjoy and remember the good things with their mind.

When people go to concerts, some of them like to use their camera to film it. Other people criticize this action because they say that when going to a concert you should watch it, listen to it and enjoy the moment. If you film it, you have your hand up all the time and you end up watching the concert through a screen.

Cesar Kuriyama decided to save enough money so he could quit his job and then spend one year traveling and sharing with his family.  He also wanted to document this year and he decided that he was going to be filming one second a day for the whole year. "After just six weeks, I realized I was going to be doing that for the rest of my life," he said. Now he sells an app you can use to document your life as well.
