Preparing for an interview involves thinking about your objectives and qualifications in relation to the role and company you want to work for. To do so, you should do some research on the organization you are considering and read the job description thoroughly to see why you would be a good fit. Let’s learn and practice job interviews.

It starts with your resume or curriculum vitae. Present your qualifications, work experience, and assets in a clear, concise, and strategic manner to attract a recruiter to meet you. It is designed to describe your professional accomplishments while also demonstrating what you can do for an employer. A stunning 43% of CVs are rejected because they are poorly written.

Of course, when you apply for a job, you are competing with others. Based on statistics, the average number of persons that apply for a single job is 118, yet only 20% of those are chosen to be interviewed. Interviews usually last between 45 minutes and 1 hour. In some cases, the duration is shorter but consists of more than one interview session.

One important thing to do is to research the industry and company. Almost 50% of the applicants failed the interview due to a lack of understanding about the company and the position they desired.

You won't be able to predict every question you'll be asked during an interview, but you can find common interview questions on the internet for the role you are applying for. Consider creating a sales pitch that summarizes who you are, what you do, and what you want.

On the day of your interview, show up early and make sure your clothes are clean, ironed and presentable. 71% of employers said they won't hire someone who doesn't dress appropriately.

And when you meet your interviewer, establish a good connection (rapport) by making good eye contact and starting with a firm handshake, this will reflect your confidence. Always have a good posture, be genuine, and be yourself.

An employer may ask a series of situational or behavioral interview questions during the employment process. These questions allow the recruiting manager to have a better understanding of how you react in different situations on the job. You can use your answers to show how you'll overcome specific challenges and help the organization achieve its goals.
