Staycations May 30

Introduction

A staycation is a time from a vacation spent at home or nearby, joining in recreational activities within one day, and not requiring an overnight stay.

In British English, the term is increasingly used to refer to domestic tourism, which involves going on holiday within one's own country instead of traveling abroad or on holiday in another country.

Widespread activities of domestic tourism include:
* Using the backyard pool.
* Visiting local parks and museums.
* Attending local festivals and theme parks.
Some stayers also like to follow some rules, such as setting start and end dates, planning, and avoiding conventions, creating the feel of a traditional stay.

What do you like to do on staycations?

Staycations became so much popular in the United States between 2007 and 2010. The United Kingdom was the same in 2007 due to the pound sterling fall. Finally, vacationing locally became so popular worldwide because of the pandemic of Covid-19.

What did you do during the covid-19 period for vacationing?

Staying can avoid some stress associated with travel, such as plane delays, luggage, long car journeys, or airport waits. Staying is likely to be less expensive than a travel-related vacation. Costs may include transportation for local trips, restaurants, and local attractions.

What would you choose between a local vacation and an abroad vacation? Why?

A great benefit of staycation is that it can be economically viable for some local businesses to attract customers from the area, activating the local economy and creating jobs. A second benefit is that it helps avoid commuting, which can significantly reduce the carbon footprint associated with commuting.
The environmental impact of air transport is significant.

Have you ever worked at a tourist attraction, hotel, or restaurant? Would you do it?

Since people stay close to where they work, they may be tempted to go to work at least some time, and their bosses may feel that their employees are ready to be called in. People have access to their emails, allowing them to be contacted by their bosses and feel the temptation to keep up with this contact while being on a local vacation. To avoid this, staycationers make rules not to interrupt their activity or avoid the temptation to go back to work periodically.

Would you be able not to check your email while on your leisure activities? Tell us how?
